I had a weekend experience in Nashville around Christmastime. When I visit other cities, I make it a goal to visit the local coffee shops. It’s a fun experience to see where the locals go and enjoy what they enjoy. Here are four coffeeshops in the Nashville area that I visited. Most of them have multiple locations around Nashville. As a bonus, most of them are roasters, so they have the option for you to purchase coffee beans to make your coffee at home.
Elixr
Elixr is located in the popular 5th and Broadway center. Their signature “X” is bold against the soft pink background of the cup. A fun brand aesthetic is something I love. They have pink accents around the shop, which makes it exciting and welcoming. I tried a standard latte and I enjoyed it. The roast was quite flavorful.

Frothy Monkey
This is more than a coffee shop. It’s more of a cafe and has a full menu of food options. I only tried the coffee here and it was great. I went to the 12 South location, but there are four other locations in the Nashville area to try. They have a great list of seasonal flavors. I tried one of their signature flavors, the Havana Latte. It was incredibly flavorful with the perfect amount of spice.

Barista Parlor
Barista Parlor also has multiple locations. I visited the location in the Germantown neighborhood. The space was open and spacious with the main bar as an open square in the center. The decor was unique with plants and records. I tried the Bourbon vanilla latte. I enjoyed the flavor. It was slight and simple.

The Well Coffeehouse
This was by far my favorite. The Well Coffeehouse gives toward creating safe, clean drinking water around the world. I appreciate the missional aspect of this company. I visited the Koinonia location in Music Row. They also have creative seasonal flavors. I visited while they were serving their Christmas seasonal flavors and tried the Black Cat latte. It included charcoal to turn the color black.
